APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR THE POST OF RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (RA)
Under Component- 4 of NAIP Sub Project
Media Lab Asia has been set up by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India, to innovate, develop and deploy ICT and other emerging technologies for the benefit of the common man. Media Lab Asia works closely with leading academic and research institutions, NGOs and industry for providing end-to-end solutions.
Media Lab Asia requires Research Associate (01 vacancy) in National Agricultural Innovation Project (NAIP) entitled "Development of a set of alternative ICT models based on study and analysis of the major ICT initiatives in agriculture in India to meet the information need of the Indian farmers" to be operated under consortium mode.

Post : Research Associate (RA)

Eligibility :

1. With Doctoral Degree: PhD degree in Computer Science / Information Technology.
2. With Master's Degree : Master's degree in the relevant subject with first division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average with at least two years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship / Associate ship / Training / other engagements. Published research papers will be desirable.

Age : The upper age limit for RA will be as under (age as on 28th March, 2011) : 40 years for men, 45 years for women

Emoluments : Rs. 24,000/- per month + 30% House Rent Allowance (HRA) for PhD candidates.
Rs. 23,000/- per month + 30% House Rent Allowance (HRA) for candidates with Masters Degree and two years experience.

Duration : The appointment will be on contract basis for a period till March 2012 or till the termination of the project.

• Impact / review study of the existing ICT based knowledge dissemination systems for agriculture in India.
• Design & development of ICT models for effective information access based on the field study
• Validation & testing of developed ICT models
• Other responsibilities as and when told by the project investigators
