LEAD DataStage Developer v 8.*
The DataStage v8.* Developer performs high level technical data warehouse analysis and programming. Acts independently, under the general supervision and direction of the Project Leader. Responsible for understanding customer needs and processes to ensure maximization of data analysis capabilities and performance from the data warehouse solutions. Persons working in this area are responsible for the overall development, maintenance and support for the enterprise data warehouse system and corresponding data marts as well as the presentation/reporting of the data of the data warehouse. Persons working in this area may specialize in one or more areas such as business analysis or ETL Processing within the data warehousing environment.

| Education, credentials, licenses | Four year degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience, including healthcare or Information Systems.
| Experience in Data Warehouse development or support. |
| Specialized knowledge | Will require knowledge of some of the following tools/programming languages based on work assignment: Microsoft SQL Database Programming and related tools (T-SQL, DTS Packages, SSIS, etc), Web Reporting Tools (Web Focus), Java Script., AJAX Script, DataStage v8.*
| Knowledge of ETL Processing or Tools, Microsoft Analysis Server, other relational and/or multi-dimensional database packages and related tools, Data Warehousing Methodology, Web Development; .Net Development tools, and minimum project management skills. |
| Kind & length of experience | Minimum of 3-5 years as a Microsoft SQL Database programming, or 4-6 years experience as other Relational Database programming. | Six years practical experience in a healthcare enterprise supporting Database applications or Data Warehouse applications in a multi-site facility. |
· Performs high quality design, development, programming, testing and documentation for the enterprise data warehouse and corresponding data marts as well as other projects as assigned.
· Must be able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, understanding the priority attached to each. Assignments include serving as a mentor to less senior Programmer/Analysts.
Other Required Skills
Candidate will be required to
- setup best practices/ parameter driven standard architecture/standards for new ETL processes using the tool suite or the migration of existing ETL processes currently created for the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
- perform data modeling or more specifically dimensional modeling.
- perform data analysis and creation of source to target mappings.
- have 3-5 years (prefer 6 years practical experience) with an industry leading ETL suite of products Microsoft SSIS and DataStage)
